Lachlan Robinson and Denny Berndt produced a stunning comeback at the Nürburgring to claim a dominant race victory and reclaim the championship lead in the 2026 ADAC GT4 Germany series with AVIA W&S Motorsport.

Race 1: A Difficult Day at the Nürburgring

Saturday’s race proved a challenging afternoon for Robinson and Berndt. Starting from second on the grid, Robinson ran a strong race but the duo were hit with a 15-second post-race time penalty, dropping them from a potential podium finish to sixth place in the final classification. The victory went to Jan Philipp Springob and Philipp Gogollok in their COSY Racing by ESM Aston Martin Vantage GT4, dealing a blow to Robinson and Berndt’s championship advantage heading into Sunday.

Race 2: Victory and Championship Lead Regained

Sunday’s race delivered the perfect response. Robinson and Berndt came out fighting, controlling the second half of the race with total authority in the W&S Motorsport Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport. As the laps counted down, the duo were untouchable and crossed the line 4.1 seconds ahead of Gabriele Piana and Benjamin Sylvestersson (FK Performance Motorsport BMW M4 GT4), who had missed out on Sunday’s points following their own misfortune on Saturday.

Teammates Maximilian Schreyer and Alon Gabbay completed a W&S Motorsport one-two-three — an exceptional team result — taking third place and completing an outstanding day for the Porsche squad.

Championship Standing

With five rounds now complete and the Sachsenring season finale remaining, Robinson heads back to the top of the 2026 ADAC GT4 Germany standings. The penultimate round takes place at the Sachsenring in September.
